The 2025-09-02 Proof Release introduces a new requirement for witnesses in On-Demand and Identity-Verified Witnessing to mark signer credentials as Viewed before signing (NX-5843), enhancing witnessing structure, and fixes the notary mobile web experience by updating all pages, including the Proof Digital Certificate page, to display relevant information correctly (NX-5526).
Enhancements
To better support the structure of a witnessing, for both On-Demand Witnessing and Identity-Verified Witnessing, the joining witness will need to mark the signer credentials as Viewed before being able to sign (NX-5843).

To resolve Adobe warnings or missing green checkmarks on Proof-notarized documents caused by untrusted root certificates, users must manually install the Proof or IdenTrust root certificate file (proof-root-ca-r1.crt) into Adobe Reader or Acrobat to establish a trust relationship, enabling Adobe to verify the digital certificate and display the green checkmark for valid notarizations.
On-Demand Notary Overview
The Proof platform enables On-Demand Notaries (ODNs) in Florida, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia who have completed National Notary Association (NNA) training and background checks, hold NSA certification, and possess at least $25,000 in Errors and Omissions insurance, all verified and uploaded through their Proof notary profile before they can accept on-demand notarization requests.
