Notary training in onboarding
We have integrated mandatory training directly into the notary onboarding flow. New ODN and NST notaries must now complete the designated WorkRamp training modules before gaining access to notarization capability (NX-6124).

What You Need for Online Notarization
To complete an online notarization, you must be at least 18, have six months of credit history, a U.S. address, and a U.S. document intended for use in the U.S., and be prepared with a U.S. SSN or ITIN for identity verification, a government-issued photo ID (and possibly a secondary ID), a valid email, and a device with audio and video capabilities to ensure a secure and compliant live video session.
Proof Academy Assessments Overview
The Proof Academy Assessments guide details two 20-question multiple-choice tests—Notary Skills Assessment (state law knowledge) and Proof Platform Certification (platform features)—required or recommended based on notary capacity, with an 80% passing score, unlimited attempts, and preparation advice emphasizing review of state-specific notarial laws and educational materials.
Set document requirements for notarizations – Proof Help Center
The Proof platform allows users with appropriate roles to set specific document requirements—such as notarization, witness presence, signer filling permissions, and verification of fact—when uploading files to transactions or templates, with these settings enforced during the signing process to control how documents are completed and notarized.

The May 4, 2026 Proof release (DEPLOY-1308) introduces expanded and standardized risk signals in Defend for all users, enhanced multi-select capabilities in the document editor for business-related roles, a redesigned identity profile view with verified IAL2 badges for Pro+ and Premium plans, and updated Arizona Remote Online Notarization compliance that includes capturing signer ID numbers and retaining audiovisual recordings for seven years.
