Act as an Agent for a Verify Transaction – Proof Help Center
The Proof Help Center guide instructs agents on how to verify a recipient's identity during a meeting by logging into their Proof account, joining the meeting, using specified verification tools such as Credential Analysis and Selfie Analysis to capture and review ID and facial photos, recording the verification outcome as passed or failed, and completing the meeting with confirmation.
Verify the Recipient's Identity
Log in to your Proof account to complete the steps below. Throughout the meeting, communicate with the recipient and let them know what they need to do next.
- 1.Click Meetings in the left navigation of your account.
- 2.Click Join meeting to answer the call.
- 3.Click Start next to the verification tool you'd like to use. See the Verification Methods section below for step-by-step instructions for each tool.
- To retry any tool, click the tool name at the top of the screen.
- 4.Complete the meeting using one of the options below:
- To exit without a determination: Click Exit meeting and confirm in the pop-up window.
- To record a determination: Click Verify identity in the upper right corner and select one of the options below.
- If you are able to validate the person's identity, select Passed verification.
- If you are not able to validate the person's identity, select Failed verification.
- 5.Click Complete meeting in the upper right corner.
- 6.Confirm in the pop-up window.
Verification Methods
Proof Verify supports four identity verification methods. Your organization determines which methods are required.
Credential Analysis
Credential analysis is required for selfie analysis but may be optional if selfie analysis is not required.
- 1.Click Start next to Credential analysis to begin.
- 2.Select Start capture to confirm.
- The customer captures photos of their ID.
- 3.Review the identification and the name and date of birth displayed in the credential viewer.
- Use Retake ID in the lower right corner to prompt a retake if the ID is not clear.
Review the results and proceed to the next step.
Selfie Analysis
Selfie analysis must be completed after credential analysis.
- 1.Click Start next to Selfie analysis to begin.
- 2.Select Start capture to confirm.
- The customer captures photos of their face.
Review the photo and identification in the credential viewer, then proceed to the next step.
Credit Card Validation
Credit card validation processes a temporary $1 charge and immediately refunds it to determine the validity of the card.
- 1.Click Start next to Credit card validation to begin.
- 2.Click Start validation to confirm.
- 3.The person provides their credit card number.
- 4.The system displays the result of the test.
Review the results and proceed to the next step.
Phone Number Validation
Phone number validation sends a one-time password (OTP) to the phone number provided. The person enters the code to confirm they own the number.
- 1.Click Start next to Phone number validation to begin.
- 2.Click Start validation to confirm.
- 3.The system displays the result of the test.
Review the results and proceed to the next step.
Change the Verification Selection
To change your verification outcome after selecting an option:
- 1.Click the verification button in the upper right corner.
- The button will display Passed verification or Failed verification depending on what was originally selected.
- 2.Choose a new option.

- Log in to your Proof account and open the Meetings panel
- Click Join meeting to answer the verification call
- Run the required verification tools (credential analysis, selfie, credit card, or phone)
- Click Verify identity and select Passed verification or Failed verification
