EasyLink Settings Reference
The following settings are available when editing an API-created EasyLink:
- allow_signer_annotations: Allow signers to add text to documents prior to the notarization meeting. This is the same as the "Signer Can Fill In Document" toggle — it can be switched here after the EasyLink is created.
- require_secondary_photo_ID: Turn this on only if the document being notarized requires the signer to present a secondary form of ID.
- external_ID: Ties a specific ID to the system for all transactions using this link. This optional field lets you enter any internal ID your company uses to organize transactions — it will appear in the transaction details under Send & manage.
- transaction_type: An optional field to enter a transaction type your company uses to organize transactions on the platform.
- transaction_name: If a name is entered here, transactions completed using this EasyLink will have that transaction name.
- transaction_doc_category: An optional field for a specific document type — used for Wills and Trusts.
- min_signers: Requires a minimum number of signers on the document.
- max_signers: Limits the maximum number of signers allowed on a document.
A total of ten (10) devices can connect to a meeting. One must be a notary and one must be a signer; the rest can be any combination of participants (signers, real estate contacts, etc.), with a maximum of 2 witnesses.
