Enable Login Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Your Organization – Proof Help Center

The Proof Help Center article explains how organization owners and admins can enable mandatory login multi-factor authentication (MFA) via SMS or authenticator app for all team members—including all notary accounts and Pro/Premium tiers—by toggling the MFA setting in Team Security, which overrides individual user settings and prompts users to authenticate with a 6-digit code at next login.

Overview

Owners and admins can require all team members to verify their identity via SMS or authenticator app each time they log in to their Proof account.

Login MFA is required for all notary accounts and available for Pro and Premium tier organizations.

What It Does

When you enable login MFA for your organization, all team members will be required to authenticate via text or authenticator app when they log in.

  • The authentication method chosen when MFA is enabled becomes the default for all users.
  • Organization settings override a user's individual MFA settings.

Once MFA is configured, team members will see a message informing them that the account manager has set up their MFA settings.

Enable Login Multi-Factor Authentication

  1. 1.Log in to your Proof account.
  2. 2.Click Settings from the navigation panel on the left.
    • If you don't see the panel, click the caret to expand it.
  3. 3.Select Team security from the Settings page menu.
  4. 4.Toggle the Multi-factor authentication switch to ON.
  5. 5.Check the box next to the authentication methods you'd like to allow.
  6. 6.Click Save changes.

User Experience

Users are prompted to set up their login MFA the next time they log in. After entering a valid email and password, they are prompted to enter a 6-digit code sent via SMS or generated in the Google Authenticator app.

If users need help setting up their individual methods, they can refer to the relevant support article.
