Encompass to Proof: Testing Tips – Proof Help Center
The article provides organizations onboarding the Encompass integration with Proof detailed testing tips, including duplicating loans in Encompass and renaming loans in Proof to efficiently submit multiple test loan packages without starting from scratch, emphasizing that this workflow is strictly for testing and should be tracked using the Template Tracker.
Audience: Organizations
The short answer: Tips and tricks for closers to speed up testing the submission of loans from Encompass to Proof as you onboard onto the Encompass integration.
⚠️ This workflow is for testing only — do not use it for sending live loans to signers. We recommend dedicating a resource to testing the first few packages. Use the Template Tracker in your Project Plan (provided by the Proof Onboarding team) to track which packages have been tested and confirmed.
Testing tricks to speed up the process
1. Duplicate loans in Encompass
Rather than creating loans from scratch, duplicate an existing loan in Encompass and swap out the details. Add a closer, order documents, and place the order to Proof.
2. Test multiple packages without starting from scratch
Update the loan number in Proof and refresh the loan in Encompass to test multiple packages efficiently:
- 1.After placing an order from Encompass, open the transaction from your Transactions page in Proof, rename the loan, and select Save and Exit.
- Renaming the loan in Proof disassociates that transaction from the loan in Encompass.
- 2.Refresh the form in Encompass — you'll now be able to place a brand new order.
- Update your loan details for your next test.
- Delete the contents in the eFolder from the previous order and order your new documents.
- Select Place Order to submit the new loan.
Once your team sends tests for the loan types and states you'll be operating in, the Proof Onboarding team will ensure documents are tagged appropriately. If you notice any errors or have questions, contact Proof Support or use your dedicated feedback form.
Summary Checklist
- For testing only — never use this workflow for live loans. Track completed tests in the Template Tracker.
- Tip 1: Duplicate an existing loan in Encompass instead of creating new ones from scratch.
- Tip 2: Rename the loan in Proof → refresh in Encompass → clear the eFolder → place a new order to test the next package.
