Proof has appointed Gary Weingarden as Chief Privacy Officer to lead its Global Privacy, Governance, Risk & Compliance, and Identity Standards programs, leveraging his 15+ years of experience to ensure the company's expanding digital identity platform maintains high standards of privacy, resilience, and compliance amid partnerships with major players like Visa and Lightspark.
Proof, the leading identity authorization network, announced that Gary Weingarden has been appointed as the company’s Chief Privacy Officer (CPO). In this role, Weingarden will lead Proof’s Global Privacy, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Identity Standards & Governance programs. His responsibilities include ensuring that Proof’s expanding platform maintains high standards for privacy, resilience, and compliance.
Proof has been rapidly expanding its trusted digital identity platform through collaborations with jurisdictions and industry leaders involved in significant transactions. The company recently announced its work with Visa to secure digital payments and transactions with identity, as well as a partnership with Lightspark, a global payment network built on Bitcoin. Weingarden will collaborate closely with legal, engineering, security, and product teams to embed privacy-by-design principles throughout the platform.

Gary Weingarden brings over 15 years of experience building and leading privacy and security programs in the mortgage and fintech industries. He joined Proof in 2020 as Counsel and Data Protection Officer, where he led the company’s information security, privacy, IT, and fraud prevention efforts. His previous roles include Privacy Officer for Tufts University, Senior Counsel at Rocket Mortgage, and Chief Privacy Officer and General Counsel at Birmingham Bancorp Mortgage Corporation.

He is also a member of InfraGard and serves as an editor for the Global Blockchain Business Council’s International Journal of Blockchain Law (IJBL).
