Ian Macallister Joins Proof | Proof

Ian Macallister, with extensive experience in fintech and financial systems integration from roles at Plaid, Unit21, and Early Warning (Zelle), has joined Proof as EVP of Strategy and Business Development to advance the company's mission of embedding legally verifiable, privacy-conscious identity verification across the financial ecosystem, enabling secure, fraud-resistant sharing of identity and fraud signals among banks, networks, and other industries.

Proof, the leading identity authorization network, announced that Ian Macallister has joined the company as EVP of Strategy and Business Development. Macallister brings decades of experience integrating legacy financial systems with emerging fintech, supporting Proof’s mission to embed high-assurance, legally verifiable identity across the financial ecosystem.

Macallister previously held senior leadership roles at Plaid, Unit21, and Early Warning (Zelle), where he led partnerships and product strategy at the intersection of identity, risk, and payments.

Pat Kinsel, CEO of Proof, commented: “Ian has earned the trust of some of the most risk-averse and influential players in the financial industry. His credibility and experience navigating complex payments and compliance challenges to create new revenue streams and scale emerging technologies make him a huge asset to Proof and our partners.”

At Early Warning, Macallister played a key role in scaling Zelle, coordinating banks, card networks, and core processors to drive mainstream adoption of real-time payments. At Plaid, he was instrumental in moving the industry from screen scraping toward secure APIs and helping banks align with next-generation financial technology.

Macallister stated: “I’ve spent my career collaborating with and within banks and fintechs to bridge gaps in identity, risk, and payment infrastructure. What drew me to Proof is their ability to not only verify identity, but to anchor it to high-value transactions in a way that’s reusable, privacy-conscious, and fraud-resistant. This is what the industry has needed for years: a trusted partner that enables any company, banks, networks, healthcare, and more, to securely share identity and fraud signals without compromising their relationships with their consumers.”
