Identity timeline with Proof Defend – Proof Help Center
Proof Defend provides owners and admins with an identity timeline for each transaction, displaying a detailed audit trail of the signer's full identity verification journey—including completed steps, timestamps, provided information, and alerts with explanations—to help businesses monitor and understand the verification process.
The short answer: Proof provides an identity timeline for each transaction that shows your business the signer's full identity verification journey at a glance — including what steps were completed, when, and what information was provided. It serves as an audit trail of the entire verification process.
This feature is available to owners and admins at organizations that have Proof Defend enabled. If you're interested in Defend, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or contact Sales.
How it works
When your signers proceed through a transaction, the Proof platform records a timeline of their identity verification steps.
If a step in the process had alerts related to it:
- 1.Select the arrow next to that step to view the alerts for that item.
- 2.Select Learn more at the bottom of the list to read more details about what the alerts mean.
The example below shows detailed information about why credential analysis failed for a signer, with a link to learn more about each alert.
Summary Checklist
- Your organization has Proof Defend enabled.
- You have the Owner or Admin role.
- Select the arrow next to any flagged step to view its alerts.
- Select Learn more at the bottom of the alert list for detailed explanations.
