Proof has launched Identify, a no-code, plug-and-play customer verification solution that integrates identity verification, fraud prevention, and evidence collection throughout the entire customer journey—addressing risks in industries like real estate, property management, and financial services by enabling businesses to verify identities early and continuously, capture sealed identity reports, and seamlessly combine with their Defend fraud detection technology for enhanced security without complex IT integration.

Identify is an out-of-the-box customer experience, ready for immediate deployment. Businesses no longer need to purchase and integrate multiple technologies. With Identify, you can:

  • Verify customer identity using sophisticated fraud detection tools
  • Capture all evidence in a sealed identity report
  • Deploy the solution by embedding a link in the customer journey or printing a QR code for in-person verification

Many organizations currently patch together multiple vendors for a single point in the customer journey, usually at onboarding. But fraud can happen at any stage—account takeover, password reset, call center impersonation, and stolen identities are increasingly common. How do I use Identify?

Identify is available to all business and real estate customers. With EasyLinks, businesses can get started by:

  • Placing a link on their website or sending it via email
  • Printing a QR code for in-person verification
  • Using APIs for integrated solutions

To get started:

  1. 1.Create a new Identify Easylink.
  2. 2.Choose from several identity verification options:
    • Answer knowledge-based questions
    • Scan an ID document and perform biometric comparison
    • Verify ID via a workflow that meets federal security standards (NIST IAL2), with agent support if needed (additional charges may apply)
  3. 3.Generate a QR code, access link, or embeddable button upon saving the Easylink transaction.
  4. 4.Share the chosen option with your customer to begin the verification process.
  5. 5.Once the customer completes the process, log into the dashboard to review transaction details and download the identity report for your records.

Defend: Advanced Fraud Detection

Defend is our fraud detection platform. It analyzes hundreds of data points—location, phone score, email score, behavioral data—to determine if a customer might be a bad actor. When enabled, Defend runs for every Sign, Notarize, and now Identify transaction. Transactions are flagged if any risk is detected.
