Limit Document Visibility on All Transactions

The document visibility setting, which must be enabled by Proof, restricts each signer in multi-signer transactions to only see the documents they signed while allowing senders full access to the entire document package, and this setting applies universally to all such transactions without per-transaction adjustments.

Audience: Organizations

The short answer: Protect the privacy of your signers in multiple-signer transactions using the document visibility setting for your account.

How it works

Once enabled, the document visibility setting is applied to all of your transactions involving more than one signer. This cannot be adjusted on individual transactions.

  • This setting only affects transactions with more than one signer.
  • The final document package for each signer only includes documents they signed.

Who can see documents?

  • Sender (you or your team): The entire document package
  • Signers: Only the documents they are assigned to sign or interact with; documents without any fields or requirements, unless they are specifically hidden from signers
  • Witnesses: Only what's required for the witness

Summary Checklist

  • This feature must be enabled by Proof — contact your CSM or sales team.
  • Applies to all multi-signer transactions — cannot be changed per individual transaction.
  • Each signer's final document package only includes the documents they signed.
  • Senders can always see the full document package.
