The short answer: On-Demand Witness lets notaries instantly summon a witness from the Notarize Network to join a remote online notarization — no need for the signer to arrange their own.
1. When Is a Witness Required?
On-demand witnesses are available whenever a notarization requires a witness. Witness requirements depend on the document type and the state — contact your legal advisor or the intended recipient if you're unsure whether your document requires one.
2. How It Works During the Meeting
The notary calls the witness from within the meeting. The witness joins, performs their duties, and exits — the process is seamless for all parties.
Senders can place witness signature fields before sending a document. If fields are missing, the notary can add witness signatures directly during the meeting.
A total of ten (10) devices can connect to a meeting. One must be a notary and one must be a signer; the rest can be any combination of participants (signers, real estate contacts, etc.), with a maximum of 2 witnesses.
