Proof and IDEMIA Public Security Announce Strategic Partnership for Privacy-Preserving Digital Identity Solutions

Proof and IDEMIA Public Security have formed a strategic partnership to develop an interoperable, privacy-preserving digital identity framework that integrates IDEMIA’s biometric verification technologies with Proof’s cryptographically secured digital signature network, enabling user-controlled, revocable verifiable digital credentials designed to enhance secure identity verification across physical, logical, and digital domains for applications such as payments fraud prevention and KYC compliance.

Proof, a platform specializing in cryptographically secured identity, and IDEMIA Public Security, a global provider of secure digital identity and biometric-based solutions, have announced a strategic partnership. Their goal is to enable a trusted, privacy-preserving identity experience through a verifiable digital credential (VDC) that operates across physical, logical, and digital domains.

IDEMIA will integrate its identity verification and authentication technologies with Proof’s PKI-based digital signature and authorization network. This collaboration aims to establish one of the first interoperable identity frameworks, enabling VDCs that embed identity and biometric assurances. These credentials are designed to address payments fraud, KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements, and a wide range of related use cases. Financial institutions and enterprises will be able to verify and rely on reusable digital credentials that are user-controlled, privacy-preserving, and maintain revocability and compliance at every layer.

Pat Kinsel, CEO of Proof, stated that the partnership is about creating infrastructure for people to authenticate and authorize safely anywhere, without giving up control of their personal data. The joint framework is intended to set a new standard for identity verification: cryptographically secure, regulator-ready, and fully user-controlled.

The new framework will allow individuals to verify their identity with a single, digital, portable credential wherever verification is required. These credentials are anchored in cryptographic certificates that minimize data sharing, using selective disclosure and zero-knowledge proofs to protect sensitive information. Users will have full control over where and when their identity is used, with the ability to revoke credentials or limit access at any time.

Matt Cole, CEO of IDEMIA Public Security, emphasized that the partnership extends IDEMIA’s legacy of protecting identities into new dimensions, enabling a trusted, privacy-preserving identity that users own. Together, the companies aim to build a global foundation of confidence that makes digital interactions safer, simpler, and universally verifiable.

IDEMIA and Proof are actively engaging with financial institutions and enterprises interested in verifying and accepting privacy-preserving verifiable digital credentials for use cases such as secure KYC-sharing, identity-affirmed payments, and regulatory compliance challenges.
