Proof’s Latest Features Give You More Control When Completing Transactions

Proof's latest features include Anchor Text for precise automated tagging by placing fields relative to specific text in documents, a Closing Concierge checkbox that lets users decide per transaction whether to send for review or expedite processing, and signature restrictions that allow organizations to mandate text-based or handwritten signatures to reduce rejections.

Tagging Made Easy with Anchor Text

Anchor Text is a new tool in document templates that improves tagging accuracy through automated template matching. It allows you to place fields relative to specific text on the document. Previously, only one anchor text per template was possible, but now you can specify anchor text for every tag. This enables document templates to apply tags with greater accuracy, reducing the need for manual adjustments when documents are automatically tagged.

With Anchor Text, you get:

  • The ability to designate individual anchor points for all template fields
  • More precise auto placement of tags with reference to the first instance of the specified anchor points on each page

Gain More Control With Closing Concierge

A new Closing Concierge checkbox setting allows customers to choose, on a per-transaction basis, whether to send a transaction to Closing Concierge for review or skip this process and send directly to recipients. This flexibility is especially useful for transactions that require expedited processing, such as rush requests.

For those using Closing Concierge services, the feature works with Lender-Title collaboration:

  • If either party sends a transaction to the Closing Concierge, the lender is responsible for the fee.
  • If one party chooses to send the transaction to the Closing Concierge, it will be sent there.
  • If the Lender chooses to send to Closing Concierge, Title will be required to do so as well.

Note: This checkbox is currently only available to Title agents using the new transaction creation form.

Decrease Rejections With The Power To Set Signature Restrictions

The Restricting Signature Type setting allows organizations to customize how signers select their signatures, with the option to mandate either text-based or handwritten signatures. This helps prevent issues such as rejections due to illegibility or mismatched signatures.

By default, signers can choose between text-based and handwritten signatures, but you can restrict this to one type as needed. This ensures documents meet specific standards and regulatory requirements, providing greater control and reducing the risk of errors.

An Alternative to KBA Verification for Remote Online Notarizations

Signers sometimes struggle to complete Knowledge-based Authentication (KBA) before joining a remote online notarization meeting. Reasons include lack of SSN/ITIN, insufficient US history, or difficulty with the questions. To address this, alternatives to KBA have been developed and approved in various states.

The solution uses credential analysis with biometric comparison instead of KBA. This is now available for business customers using the Notarize Network. When a business sends a customer a notarization, they can benefit from alternative ways to complete it without KBA.

The new remote online notarization flow is presented in these cases:

  1. 1.Signer fails KBA twice
  2. 2.KBA cannot be generated for the signer
  3. 3.Signers without an SSN or ITIN but with a US address

This workflow is enabled by default for signers who fail or cannot generate KBA questions. For customers without an SSN or ITIN, contact your Customer Success Manager or Support team to enable this workflow.

A version of this capability for the Real Estate industry is in development, pending approvals from stakeholders such as lenders, title companies, underwriters, GSEs, and MISMO.
