Push Back Audit Trail to Encompass – Proof Help Center
Every completed transaction in Proof includes an audit trail PDF accessible in the Documents tab, which can be downloaded by users with access and configured—via Settings > Integrations > Documents—to automatically push back to Encompass either to the File Manager or a custom folder, provided the API user has appropriate permissions.
The short answer: Every completed transaction in Proof includes an audit trail PDF — here's how to access it and configure it to automatically push back to Encompass.
The audit trail is useful for determining who accessed a transaction and when. It can be downloaded directly from Proof or pushed back to Encompass automatically after each completed transaction.
Access the audit trail in Proof
When viewing a completed transaction in Proof, the audit trail PDF is always included at the bottom of the Documents tab. The audit trail (and all completed documents) can be downloaded by anyone with access to the transaction in Proof.
Push the audit trail to Encompass
Contact your Proof Solutions Engineer if you'd like the audit trail PDF to automatically push back to Encompass after transactions are completed.
You can choose where the audit trail PDF pushes to:
- Push to the File Manager
- Push to a custom folder
To configure this, follow the steps below.
- 1.Select Settings from the menu on the left in your Proof account.
- If you don't see the menu, select the arrow in the upper left corner to expand it.
- 2.Select Integrations.
- 3.Select Documents.
- 4.Select Yes under "Would you also like the transaction audit trail to be pushed back as an extra document to Encompass?"
- 5.Use the dropdown menu to choose the destination folder.
- If you choose a custom folder, use the text field to type the folder name.
To push the audit trail to a custom folder, the API user must have permissions to create folders in Encompass. When configured, the audit trail appears in the custom folder in the eFolder in Encompass — for example, using a folder called "Audit Trail Pushback."
Summary Checklist
- The audit trail PDF is always in the Documents tab of any completed transaction — downloadable by anyone with access.
- To push to Encompass: Settings → Integrations → Documents → select Yes → choose destination (File Manager or custom folder).
- Custom folder push-back requires the API user to have folder creation permissions in Encompass.
