Select an Existing Document Template for an Individual Transaction – Proof Help Center
The article explains how organizations and Notary-Sourced Transaction notaries (NSTs) can save time and maintain consistency by enabling template matching in their accounts to upload, select, add, and reorder pre-tagged individual document templates within transactions using the Proof platform’s "Template Upload" feature.
Audience: Organizations
Audience: Notary-Sourced Transaction notaries (NSTs)
Templates allow you to save your frequently used, pre-tagged documents so you can apply them to new transactions in just a few clicks. This helps save time and ensures consistency across all your signings.
How It Works
Before using templates, keep the following in mind:
- Template matching must be enabled in your account before you can use this feature.
- This feature does not split document packages.
- Individual documents or files with multiple documents can be matched to existing templates, as long as the templates are created individually.
- If a template contains multiple documents in one file, the system will only attempt to match the first document in the template.
Use Document Templates in a Transaction
After creating your transaction, follow these steps to add a template:
- 1.Click Upload a Document.
- 2.Select Template Upload from the menu on the left side of Add Documents.
- 3.Check the box or boxes next to the names of the templates you'd like to add to this transaction.
- 4.Click the Add # documents to transaction button, where # is the number of templates selected.
The template containing pre-placed tags is added to the transaction.
Reordering Documents
If your template contains multiple documents, you can drag and drop to reorder them:
- 1.Click and hover over the 6 dots to the left of the document you want to move.
- 2.Drag the document upwards to the position you want, then drop it.
- 3.Repeat until all documents are in the correct order.
Summary Checklist
- Confirm templates are enabled in your account.
- Click Upload a Document, then select Template Upload.
- Select your templates and click Add # documents to transaction.
- Reorder documents by dragging and dropping if needed.
Still unsure? If templates aren't available in your account, reach out to your account administrator to have them enabled. For technical help, contact Proof Support.
