TIAA Notarization Process with Proof
The TIAA notarization process with Proof involves downloading and uploading the complete TIAA form to Proof, verifying your identity with a government-issued photo ID, connecting via live video with a commissioned notary who witnesses your signature, paying a fee, and then submitting the notarized documents back to TIAA either through their website or mobile app.
How it works
1. Prepare and upload your documents
Download the TIAA form that requires notarization and upload it to Proof. If you have a paper document, scan and save the form as a PDF file. Upload the document to Proof and include all pages, not just the page that requires notarization.
For married participants: The TIAA plan participant should sign the form with their physical or digital signature. The spouse of the plan participant will then go through the signing experience with Proof.
2. Verify your identity
Proof will ask you a series of questions and prompt you to provide photos of a valid, government-issued ID to quickly and securely verify your identity.
3. Connect with a live notary
Proof will connect you with a commissioned notary over a live video feed. The notary will confirm your identity, witness your signature, and assist you throughout the process.
4. Submit your documents
After the notary meeting, Proof will prompt for credit card payment before you can access your completed forms. You must then return your completed forms to TIAA in one of two ways:
- Upload via web: Log into your account at TIAA.org and click on “Profile,” followed by “Shared Files.” Follow the instructions and, when prompted, select "Yes" that the file is being used to process a transaction.
- Upload via app: Log into your TIAA mobile app and open the Message Center. Click on “Files” followed by “Upload” in the bottom-right corner, then select the preferred folder. Follow the instructions to take a picture and upload your completed form.
