How It Works
Verify transactions are designed to provide the highest level of assurance that the person on the other side of the screen is who they say they are. By involving a live human agent in the process, Verify both confirms a person's identity and captures their authorization on record.
The results of a Verify transaction include:
- A quick, secure, and highly effective verification process
- A record of the entire interaction
- An identity report with all verified information
- A recording of the customer authorizing the transaction on camera
Verify adds a personal touch that automated systems can't offer and brings security to experiences which are currently unprotected.
Tools Available
Verify provides the following tools to help agents make an informed determination about a person's identity:
- Credential analysis: The customer captures photos of their ID with their mobile device, which is run through databases to ensure validity. This process checks if the ID is valid but does not verify that the person on the call matches the ID.
- Selfie analysis: The person takes a selfie with their mobile device for deepfake analysis and ID comparison.
- Credit card validation: The person provides credit card information. The card is charged $1 to confirm it is legitimate, then immediately refunded. This validates the card and confirms it is associated with the name on the transaction.
Using one or more of these tools, the agent makes the final determination on whether the person is who they say they are.
Process Overview
The Verify process follows these steps from invitation to determination:
- 1.Users are sent a secure link to join a live video meeting with an agent.
- 2.The user provides basic personal information and meets with an agent who oversees the verification process.
- 3.During the call, the user verifies their identity in the presence of an agent, who can scan the person's ID, perform a biometric comparison, and verify their identity with a valid credit card.
- 4.Verify analyzes the video feed for deepfake detection. If your organization has Reality Defender, Verify will also use proprietary algorithms to ensure the video feed is real and not compromised by AI.
- 5.Within seconds, the system provides signals to help the Verify agent make a determination on the person's identity.
