What's New in Deepfake Detection, Persistent Identity, and More – March Updates

The March updates introduce real-time deepfake detection during notary meetings to enhance fraud protection, a reusable Digital ID with biometric authentication for faster identity verification across Proof's services, and new organizational management tools aimed at improving efficiency and security for enterprise users handling closings, document preparation, and multi-branch operations.

This month's updates bring stronger fraud protection, faster identity verification, and more control for enterprise teams. From real-time deepfake detection in notary meetings to one-click identity reuse and new organization management tools, these features are designed for users running closings, preparing documents, or managing multi-branch operations.

Catch Deepfakes in Real Time

Deepfake technology has advanced rapidly, making real-time impersonation attempts during notary meetings a real threat. Proof is rolling out real-time deepfake detection for Proof Defend customers. This capability monitors signer video throughout the notary meeting and surfaces an alert the moment suspicious activity is flagged.

When a deepfake is detected, the notary is prompted to run a quick assessment and confirm whether the signer appears to be authentic. The outcome is logged, providing compliance and risk teams with a complete record of detection events across transactions. This feature is being rolled out to all Defend customers through the end of March.

Verify Once, Use Everywhere

For Business customers, identity verification is now faster and easier with Digital ID. After completing IAL2 verification through any Proof product, users can enroll in a reusable Digital ID, serving as their verified identity card for the Proof network. This identity can be reused across future Notarize, Sign, and Identify transactions.

Returning users can skip the full verification process, confirming their identity with a quick biometric check, similar to unlocking a phone with Face ID. Every transaction tied to a Digital ID is secured and activated by this biometric authentication, making the experience both faster and more secure.

This is part of Proof's broader investment in the Identity Authorization Network, a growing network of verified identities built for trust at the speed and scale of a digital-first world. For businesses with high transaction volumes, this means less friction for returning customers and a stronger, more consistent layer of identity assurance behind every document signed through Proof.

Streamlined Transaction Creation

Transaction creation forms have been enhanced for better usability and reduced setup time. The new forms feature clearly grouped sections (Details, Recipients, Signing Details, Communication) and improved visual hierarchy.

Features include:

  • Enhanced phone number inputs
  • Drag-and-drop signer reordering
  • Discard draft option
  • For Business customers, document upload is now at the top of the form for better user activation

The simplified layout fits above the fold, enabling faster transaction creation.

Document Prep Just Got a Lot Faster

Document preparation is now more efficient. Users can hold shift to select multiple fields at once in the document and template editor, then move or delete them in bulk across Sign, Notarize, and Close. This multi-select feature is especially helpful for cleaning up templates with misplaced tags and works across pages for longer documents.

More Control Over How You're Organized

Enterprise admins can now create child organizations directly in Command Center. From the Company Directory, admins can spin up a new child organization and select an existing organization to clone settings from. Each new child organization inherits the branding and settings of the selected organization. Admins in Command Center can see and access all child organizations.

Your Cost Center Data, Ready When You Are

Command Center administrators can now export a complete list of their cost centers directly from Proof. This enables organizations managing large branch networks through cost centers to efficiently audit and report on their organizational structure.
